Get Out Your Head

Reisen lässt die eigene Blase kleiner werden, indem es die Welt und die Menschen darin größer macht.

Boom-bap · travel-mindedSongtext von Thomas LukaschewskiOriginalsprache: Englisch

Intro

Wheels up… passport open… head open.

Verse 1

I left my block for a wider lane,
Found truth where the tuk-tuks braid the rain.
Thailand—spirit houses guarding doors,
Mini shrines feed ghosts with rice and chores.
Songkran splashes—old year rinsed,
Laugh and you’re cleansed, that’s common sense.
I learned a blessing costs a grin,
And problems shrink when you zoom them in.

Hook

Get out your head, get out your town,
Let strangers lift your burdens down.
The world is big, your bubble’s small—
Walk long enough, you hear us all.
Open roads, open eyes,
We ain’t that different, we just disguise.

Verse 2

Mexico—marigolds, candles bright,
Ofrendas glow through velvet night.
Pan de muerto, photos framed,
Love says the names that time un-named.
In Georgia, toasts rise mountains high,
Tamada speaks, the doubts run dry.
Khinkali steam and Svan stone towers,
Respect grows tall like wildflowers.

Hook

Get out your head, get out your town,
Let strangers lift your burdens down.
The world is big, your bubble’s small—
Walk long enough, you hear us all.
Open roads, open eyes,
We ain’t that different, we just disguise.

Verse 3

Japan—torii gates like breaths in red,
Wash hands, ring bells, bow the head.
Obon lanterns, rivers of light,
We dance with the past and call it night.
Seijin no Hi—new suits, new vows,
Grown by the weight that the future allows.
Korea—Chuseok tables bend,
Jesa prayers where the bloodlines mend.
Kimchi heat and Seollal bows,
Family roots like living vows.

Verse 4

Spain throws tomatoes, joy off-script,
And their clocks take siesta trips.
Central Europe counts by tens,
The States sell dreams with sharper pens.
We chase our ladders—grade by grade,
Till meaning’s taxed and smiles are paid.
But sitting still in a market square
I found my breath already there.

Hook

Get out your head, get out your town,
Let go, look round.
The world is big, your bubble’s small—
Walk on, stand tall.
Open roads, open eyes,
We ain’t that different, we just disguise.

Bridge

I learned “sorry” twelve ways, “thanks” in fifteen,
Messed up chopsticks—still got clean.
Shared a seat, shared bread, shared names—
Kept the stories, left the frames.

Outro

If you ask what travel taught me most:
Every stranger hides a host.
So pack light—lose pride—gain ground,
The more you see, the more you’re found.
