Innere Dialoge

I Draw the Line

Ein Mann stellt sich der inneren Stimme, die sowohl seine Niederlagen als auch sein Feuer für sich beansprucht.

Intro — Inner Voice

Hey… there you are again, pacing thoughts to dodge the pain.
You call it “mindful,” call it “fun,” but really, boy, you’re on the run.
You wear your wisdom like perfume, to mask the rot that fills the room.

Verse 1 — Thomas

At least I try. At least I fight.
I’ve built a life from sleepless nights.
I’ve studied minds to tame my own,
Read a thousand truths, still feel alone.
But silence helps; I hear the sea —
I think that’s what’s good for me.

Chorus — Thomas

You crawl beneath, you wear my grin,
You taste the guilt beneath my skin.
You love the sweat, the grueling fight,
You feast on every sleepless night.
But I’ve seen stars through city rain,
Heard music humming under pain.
I’ll cut you out, reclaim my tone —
The voice you stole is now my own.

Verse 2 — Inner Voice

Oh please, philosopher-priest,
Feeding your doubts like some starving beast.
All those books and all that talk,
And yet you still can barely walk
Past mirrors without checking scars —
They glow through every fake memoir.

Verse 3 — Thomas

You always come when I start to mend,
Turn calm to storm, pretend you’re friend.
I’ve tried to kill you, drown you, fight —
But you just whisper, “Not tonight.”
You live in me, but I’m still mine,
Fuck off already — I draw the line!

Verse 4 — Inner Voice

You draw your lines in shifting sand,
Then beg for love, a helping hand.
You fear the work, you crave the praise,
You preach of change, but keep your ways.
Each “later” builds your private hell —
You rot inside that wishful shell.

Chorus — Thomas

You crawl beneath, you wear my grin,
You taste the guilt beneath my skin.
You love the sweat, the grueling fight,
You feast on every sleepless night.
But I’ve seen stars through city rain,
Heard music humming under pain.
I’ll cut you out, reclaim my tone —
The voice you stole is now my own.

Verse 5 — Thomas

I know your tricks, your looping game,
You feed on guilt, on doubt, on shame.
You mimic care, but all you crave
Is dragging me down into your cave.
You sell me rest, you pour me lies,
Then watch my peace collapse and die.

Verse 6 — Inner Voice

You toast to freedom, chain your mind,
Each glass a shackle you designed.
You murder hours and call it rest,
Then wake up hollow, self-possessed.
Each highball’s one more self-deceit —
A lullaby for your defeat.

Verse 7 — Thomas

I beat you once — in lecture halls,
When I thought I’d fail, I broke those walls.
I wore your doubt and still stood tall,
Top of my class, I owned it all.
I’ve walked through cities, shed your noise,
I’ve earned the right to choose my voice.

Verse 8 — Inner Voice

You fool, I made you fight those nights,
I lit your books, I sparked your lights.
You call it strength — it’s what I gave,
I whispered “move,” you learned to crave.
You kill me now? You kill your flame.
I’m every truth beneath your name.
They cheer your fire, your edge, your scars —
That’s me, you fool, that’s who you are.

Verse 9 — Thomas

I’ve got my hands — still strong, still sure,
I’ve built through panic, pain, and war.
I’ve got a wife who calms the storm,
Who holds me close, who keeps me warm.
I’ve got my friends — my chosen kin,
They pulled me out when you crept in.
You whisper failure, I hear lies —
I look you dead between the eyes.
The years you stole, I’ll take them back,
Each word I write will break your track.
I’ll fill this room with blood and sound —
’Till you’re erased, ’till I’m unbound!

Final Chorus — Thomas

You crawl beneath, you wear my grin,
But I won’t let you in again.
You love the sweat, the grueling fight,
But I found peace beyond your night.
I’ve seen stars through city rain,
Heard music bloom from all this pain.
You had your hold, but now I’ve grown —
The voice you stole is now my own.

Outro — Narrator

The keys click slow — a fragile sound,
The ghost recedes, the man is found.
His screen reflects a calmer face,
A truce, a truth, a little grace.
No gods, no fear, no need to pray,
Just work — and peace, in full display.

Coda — Inner Voice

You’ll need me when the lights decay.
